Cut the space object in half?

We know what King Solomon would do. The two astronomers who claim to have discovered the Kuiper belt object designated 2003 EL61 (not to be confused with the recently announced Kuiper belt object and, some think, solar system's "10th planet," 2003 UB313) are now locked in an ethics brawl. (NY Times via CNET)

I love astronomers but really, sometimes they are as bad as lawyers.

(I'm just thankful this blog isn't Space Ethics Probe.)
